Do you really think something is going to happen in 2012 or very soon... now your book was written before Japan earthquake, do you think that was the start of the things that is going to happen and destroy the earth... Don't you think your group has a lot to learn from Japanese people how to handle a disaster?
I personally do not believe in the number 2012 itself, but the way I see the man-made disasters, other than the natural ones which have become more catastrophis year by year, I believe that we have a rough way ahead, in the years to come. There is no place in the book that I mentioned believing in 2012, specifically.
Yes, I heard about HAARP, and read a bit, though not much know about the details. I have to admit that it sounds scary, and more like a science fiction. Something new just to get people's mind busy? Who knows? When a happening as huge as landing on the moon is still under question, its reality I mean, there is no way, no easy way to know about claims like this one.
I agree with you, not that all the things happen to us are because of human's negligence, but many could be avoided if we moved wisely; thinking about generations to come. But hey, it's our nature, to think about now, and today's comfort, more that future's sufferers. I remember old books claimed that the things happening to our civilization, progressing fast and then destroying itself has happened at least 11, yes 11 times since the life has begun; almost extinction and then starting from scratch.
I just received this email from an old friend. My closest friend through the high school, and many years after that, and even now, although we are far from each other. He was a bright and very successful neurosurgeon back in Iran, talented and smart enough to find the same position here in Canada, and then later in the US. His wrods moved me, and encouraged me to move stronger. -------------- Salam I just finished your book. Congratulation!!! Unbelievable .Here is my opinion 1-First of all, I can not believe that an Iranian can write such an excellent book in English, it was so nicely written, I was astonished. 2-The story was extremely attracting and very well developed. 3-What you told all through the story is what all of us are wondering about at this age , God, intellectuals, running this crazy world by bunch of stupid people, the role of education for our kids, how much we respect our values and overall all of us are wondering what is right and what is wrong. In fact we don't know if there is any answer to this question or not!! 4-I think the most important question is; what will happen for our children in near future? and you were exploring this question all through the story in a very attractive manner. 5-When I was reading the dialogs, I was deeply thinking about the subjects. I think this was the main point of all the book, please think, think and think ,and I can tell you, you were extremely successful in this subject. 6-One excellent point in the book was, you were not trying to push the reader to think like you, what most of the writer try to do, but rather, you were asking people to think and find the answers by themselves. That is the most powerful and extraordinary point that I really liked about your book. 7-The dialogs were very well organized and the flow of the story were attractive all the way. 8-Some of the scenes were nostalgic for me like ,drawing the sun's dots , looking into to sun with that old telescope, .... at the end I just have only one criticism : You forgot one of our age related, the most dreadful and difficult to manage desire!!!! Why you did not develop the scene of that Dutch girl description more elaborate and detailed !!!! here we are all in our forties for god sake!!!! I would like to buy couple of copies and send it to our friend in Iran since they have no way to purchase it from Internet or buy the hard copy. I guess it took a long time to write and edit that one ,but you have another talent that we and even you did not know about it ,so please write more and more. Kambiz
Loved the story, but need to discuss the theory.
